Premier Bass Drum pedal

Took a clients tired looking Premier Bass Drum Pedal. This was sitting on the shelf looking rather tired and past its best. I quickly cleaned and serviced it but closer inspection identified some parts needed replaced and new parts fitted.

New grub screw replaces the forced in random bolt. A common quick fix but in fact to replace the correct grub screw cost less than 99p the difference is a grub screw has a con vexed point meaning you are able to apply pressure better holding the beater in place.

Rocker parts showed excessive wear, this was only noticed because I inspected the parts. This was literally on the very edge of failure. New parts ordered and replaced for £3,50 It now has years of play in this rejuvenated pedal.

Another quick fix! A nail was used to hold the chain in place, I made a pin and fitted it. This is an old bass drum pedal and has been used for many hours as seen on the wear on the cam gear mount. Finished with the chain soaked in an oil bath for a day then lightly greased. A quick rub down with sand paper and a spray of gloss black. The pedal is good for another five + years of hard rocking

Second hand these pedals are on E bay - £40, new pedals of this quality £70 upwards. I fixed this pedal and replaced a few of the rocker parts that had eroded with years of play. It cost less than £5 to give this pedal a full make over. This pedal is now back in the game getting plenty of use and will be good for another 5 or even as much as10 years.
